Robert Hashemiyoon, M.D.

In 2008 he was introduced to Prolotherapy as a treatment for his knee and shoulder using high dose Dextrose. The results galvanized him as this simple procedure was able to safely and effectively treat many soft tissue injuries without surgery and with an over 90% success rate. After years of chronic pain in his knee and shoulder Dr. Hashemiyoon became pain free and has remained that way since 2008. Since then Prolotherapy using PRP has been shown to not only be therapeutic but actually regenerative! With the constant motion of Liposuction he developed severe tennis elbow where even picking up a cell phone was agony. Dr. Batal treated him and after 4 injections using PRP Dr. Hashemiyoon has remained pain free since 2020 while still treating hundreds of patients a year.

In 1993 Dr. Hashemiyoon was the first physician in the USA to obtain and offer the VAX-D spinal decompression therapy for patient with lumbar-sacral disc disease. As medical director of First Choice Sports Medicine and Rehab Centers in the Washington DC area he treated many patients from the Federal and local governments with work related injuries. In that outpatient facility Dr. Hashemiyoon personally observed patients with bulging or even hernaited discs have improvement in their pain and sciatica. Over 70% of patients improved with approximately 40% obtaining total resolution of symptoms. During that time he was also the medical director of 4 in-house rehabilitation departments offering physcial therapy, occupational therapy and speech therapy to elderly patients in nursing homes in Virginia and Maryland.

Professional Experience

Dr. Robert Hashemiyoon received his AB degree from the prestigious University of Pennsylvania, one of the 8 Ivy League schools in the USA. He graduated Cum Laude from Penn. He moved to Washington, DC where he obtained his medical degree from The George Washington University School Of Medicine. Dr. Hashemiyoon further pursued his clincal training at the world renowned Washington Hospital Center, one of the top cardiac centers in the world.

He is nationally recognized for his expertise in the diagnosis and treatment of venous disorders and was one of 5 international authors of the definitive medical textbook for Vein Diagnosis And Treatment. He has been invited to provide scientific presentations at medical conventions around the world and has been asked to conduct fellowships teaching medical management of venous disease for both national and international physicians. He is also on the faculty of the American Academy of Cosmetic Surgery.

Dr. Hashemiyoon was the first physician to perform SmartlipoTM procedures in Beverly Hills, CA. He is the founder and CEO of four cosmetic surgery centers located in Southern California from Los Angeles to San Diego. Wishing to do more for his community Dr. Hashemiyoon founded the Pacific Pain Centers to share with his patients the non-surgical alternatives for their chronic pain due to soft tissue injuries.

Dr. Hashemiyoon has been published in medical journals including Journal of Dermatologic Surgery and Oncology. He has been asked to lecture to the Australian Medical Society and done research in Belgium. He has been featured in Frederick Magazine, in Maryland World Class Doctors: "Local Physicians Making a Difference." He was published in The Washington Times newspaper in Washington, D.C.. Recently, he was featured on CBS NEWS in Los Angeles for his expertise in vein medicine (Phlebology).
